We are a small, agile Scottish IT company who specialise in designing and building business critical software and solutions for commerce and industry. For over 10 years we have prided ourselves in working within a quality environment allowing us to deliver quickly and to high standards. We are currently recruiting for software specialists.
You will be self motivated and able to work to development plans. You will be expected to assume responsibility and show initiative and professionalism for which you will be well rewarded with flexible working arrangements and excellent career advancement prospects.
You will have worked in a disciplined software development regime (not necessarily to a formal QA standard) and be well versed in source code control, configuration management, code reviewing, testing techniques, problem (bugs and changes) reporting and management.
You will be based in our Technical Office in East Kilbride with an opportunity to work from home some of the time. Our flexible work arrangements also embrace flexible hours and full or part-time positions.
Software specialist
You will be educated to degree standard in Computer Science or equivalent; you will ideally have 5+ years experience in project-based IT solutions. You will be personable, positive and able to function well in a team environment. You will perform well under pressure and demonstrate deductive problem-solving ability.
You will be a seasoned programmer, ideally in C, C# or Java. Experience in Microsoft .NET and associated Web technologies will be highly advantageous. You will be proficient in database-driven solutions with a knowledge of SQL and a good understanding of muti-tiered application development. In addition, Systems and network experience will be useful.
Software project manager
You will be educated to degree standard in a technical subject; you will have 2+ years experience in software project management. You will be able to demonstrate experience of leading a software team and dealing with customers. You will be proficient in writing requirements specifications and test specifications. Ideally you will also have had some practical software development experience.
